Join Teacher and Trainer Suzanne DeFranco and Watsu and Massage Instructor Kim L. Hartz for a blissful 2 day
retreat at Two Bunch Palms Resort & Spa in Desert Hot Springs. For two days, you will immerse in the healing
mineral springs of the California desert, and learn couples massage. Massage instruction will be taught on a
massage table and in the Watsu® mineral pool. Meditation and communication techniques will be included. The use
of aphrodisiacs and essential oils, and the arts of allurement will be discussed. By choosing from our pure essentials
oils, you will also create your own massage blend to use during Retreat and to take home. For your added benefit,
Hott Coco Elixirs will be available on request. Enjoy the aphrodisiacs during your evening or for breakfast.

applications, while maintaining a firm foundation in sound, up-to-date science. Our veteran herbalist and practitioner
of 15 years is formally trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), which epitomizes the principle of harmonizing

Included in your experience will be your two (2) night boutique hotel accommodation, all Retreat workshops
and activities, in the massage class and in the water. Couples learn 4 hours each day from 9 am to 2 pm, with lunch breaks. The rest of the days and nights will be free time to soak, have treatments, and play. You will be sent home with playful homework.

Suzanne DeFranco, L.M.T. and is a Master of Chinese Medicine. As a certified ASTECC Therapist she
is educated in all areas of traditional spa; the uses of hot and cold therapies, aromatherapies, body typing
and uses of muds, clays and salts. She creates specific personalized treatments with 5 star service.
Suzanne has traveled the world studying bodywork and spiritual techniques for the last 30 years, and is
licensed in many modalities. She is an Herbalist, Chocolatier and Sommelier. What she wants most now
in life is to bring more love into the world one couple at a time. With that goal in mind she has developed elixirs with Chelsea McFarland. Suzanne loves teaching classes which enhance couple’s

Kim L. Hartz, L.M.T., Certified WABA Watsu Instructor. Kim has been a massage therapist at Two
Bunch Palms Resort & Spa for seventeen years. She has been an Instructor for five years holding
classes at Two Bunch Palms and various spas in the U.S., as well as leading international retreats in
Bali and Thailand. In all her teaching, Kim adjusts to the needs of the class and each student. She
believes that anyone can learn bodywork, and is a necessary part of everyone's life. Kim delights in
sharing knowledge with laughter, guiding her students in an exploration of Watsu as Aquatic Therapy,
as well as QiGong, Reflexology, Yoga and massage. During the past thirty years, Kim has followed
her heart(z) with continual education in bodywork and aquatic bodywork, as well as emotional and
spiritual healing. Kim is skilled in many modalities; massage, Reflexology, AquaReflex, Watsu, LaStone,
Ayurvedic, Cranio-Sacral, Aromatherapy, Healing Dance and Thai. She is a Reiki master and knows
Shen. Kim pursued her passion and became a Watsu Instructor, which she has been practicing for the
past twelve years. As an Instructor, Kim brings forth her knowledge of life, the body, water, and the spirit.
Kim teaches Aquatic Therapy, QiGong and Yoga at Two Bunch Palms Resort, along with Reflexology in
workshops globally.

Couples Massage Workshop

Rekindle romance and learn how to massage your partner as Suzanne DeFranco leads a two hour group workshop at Spa Montage. Learn basic massage techniques for the entire body. $300 per couple.

- Thursday, February 14:  6-8pm
- Friday, February 15:       6-8pm
- Sunday, February 17:     4-6pm

Additional Information:
Each class will accomodate up to 8 couples and will take place in an executive suite. 
Massage tables and linens will be provided. 
Guests should bring a bathing suit as it is a semi-private setting.
Class includes an oil blending session with a take-home custom blend.
Suzanne will also discuss igniting romance through the art of wrting love letters, verbal and non-verbal communication.

Passing the qualifying exam for level one Sommeliers Course with The Court of Master Sommeliers was almost as challenging as an Acupuncture Board...well not quite. I'm glad I know how to study because who would think that a wine class could be so hard? I am grateful to Montage for our on going education and for the four month course called "Study with a Somm" that prepared me for my test. Our wonderful team of Sommeliers dedicated time to make this happen for me and my fellow Somm's. We studied 16 wine producing countries, cocktails, spirits; the techniques of blind tasting; service standards, including sparking wine service; viticulture, and wine making. Thank you Troy Smith, Gary Sullivan, Nina Rosas, Pam Gregory, and Margaux Pierog who made it interesting and pushed us to be ready.

Master Sommeliers from the esteemed Court of Master Sommeliers, taught a 2 day introductory Course and administered the Introductory exam to my class at Montage and 150 other students from across the country. This is a very formal group as you can tell by their name and they are a wonder in their knowledge. Thanks to ; Peter Neptune, Steven Poe, Michael Jordan, Tim Glaiser, Anothony Anselmi, Laura Williamson, for their wonderful yet nerve racking course. I did not know I passed, really I thought I did not, so when my name was called I let out yelp, not very formal, but it felt like the Academy Awards to me! We had a 100% pass rate on Level 1, I think Troy was passing out cigars like a proud daddy.

My latest endeavor  week end work shops combining couples massage and wine tasting...oh, and let's not forget Hott Coco Elixers. Who's on board?
